Heart + Help = Hope!
PBC October Missions Focus
The Providence Baptist Church Missions Committee invites you to join us in our “Heart + Help = Hope” Homelessness focus.
According to Urban Ministries, nearly 7000 people in Mecklenburg County are without a reliable and safe place to sleep–including those who live on the streets, in shelters, with friends or family, under bridges, in the woods, or in their cars. They are fellow citizens who are dealing with a complex web of issues — lack of affordable housing and healthcare, insufficient income, domestic violence, addictions or mental disorders, physical handicaps. According to Urban Ministries 2010 Vulnerability Index, there are 807 chronically homeless people in Charlotte.
Providence members can help! Sign-up to tour and/or volunteer at a few local agencies, come and hear our Wednesday night speakers, or participate in our furniture and underwear collection this month. You CAN be part of a solution!
